Northwest Trawlers Update

A lot has happened since I last posted here. Jan and I embarked on a 10,000 mile, 10week RV trip in September to participate in several boat shows on the East Coast. Having no RVing experience, we thought it would be a great way to compare the trawler cruising lifestyle to the RV cruising lifestyle.

We both can say, unequivically, that we prefer the trawler lifestyle. There are numerous reasons, but so as to not offend any of those "good buddies" we came in contact with on our trip, we'll just leave it that we are boaters, not RVers.

We did meet many great people at Trawler Fest in Baltimore, the Annapolis Boat Show and then the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. We continue to receive many compliments about the Northwest Trawlers and we think that people are now starting to "come out of the woodwork" and seriously consider purchasing a new boat.

We spent several days with Steve and MJ Seaton, enjoying their company and also fine tuning some of the existing design and preparing to release of some new models.

Our two most significant design changes were to the Northwest 45 and 50. We listened to our client base and potential customers and moved the flybridge up over the pilothouse and we now have the master stateroom amidships rather than in the bow.

Here is the drawing of the NW45 (click on thumbnail to enlarge):

We also are readying to release information on 3 new models, the NW57, NW63 and NW72. The NW57 and NW63 are like our other Northwest Trawlers as they are semi-displacement hulls and they will come standard with twin John Deere 6090 engines at 500hp each. These models are also available with a single John Deere 6135 (750hp) engine also.

Here are preliminary drawings of the NW 57 and NW63.

The Northwest 72 is a long range expedition yacht, designed to be built either as a full FRP boat or as a steel hull with FRP superstructure. This boat will be powered by a single John Deere engine and will have a range of greater than 3000 miles.

For further information on these new models or any Northwest Trawlers please give us a call or drop us a note.
